Under bulletin 02-004/21 dealers replace the front strut upper mounting rubbers with the modified parts. Where the noise persists on vehicles produced before January 1, 2022, the documented escalation is replacement of both front strut dampers. Warranty-covered within the basic warranty period; there is no recall and no free campaign remedy outside warranty. Before authorizing strut replacement, have the technician confirm the noise source and check for oil weeping on the damper bodies, which Mazda covers under a separate bulletin.
