On the 1999-2004 Nissan Frontier, first-generation Frontiers fitted with the 3.3L V6 - the naturally aspirated VG33E and the supercharged VG33ER in the 2001-2004 Frontier SC - use a rubber timing belt, not the chain found on the later 4.0L VQ40DE.
