On the 2021-2022 Ford E-Series, on late E-350 and E-450 dual-rear-wheel chassis built at Ohio Assembly between May 2019 and June 2021, the connection between the power steering pressure line and the brake hydroboost unit was inadequately made. The line can separate and dump power steering fluid, which on these vans also feeds the hydroboost brake assist - so a single failure removes both power steering and power brake assist on a heavy, high-centre-of-gravity ambulance, shuttle or motorhome chassis. Ford recalled it twice: the 2022 inspect-only remedy proved insufficient and was superseded by a replace-everything remedy in 2024.
